Jiří Netík, * 9. 8. 1953 in Brno,
sculptor, carver and restorer was formerly a professional musician. He works mainly with wood, sometimes combined with metal, glass (or founded objects). His creation reflect respect to the world and human deal likewise it can to be seen at medieval and barock artists´ work.
The finest details (expressions of the faces, fabrics) give evidence of perfectly mastered craft. He likes to aim at a life of a human being in context of nature, history of a mankind and universe. Especially he inspects a man with his pains, searching for his identity, roots and his place on The Earth.

Some Netik's wooden or bronze sculptures can be seen in various public sites, e. g. University of Brno - Faculty of Technical Studies (Czech republic) or in Carmelitan convent in Linz (Austria). Exhibitions of Jiri Netik could be seen throughout the whole Czech republic, Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Swirzerland, USA and Canada. /Last important solo exhibitions in 2007 in Utrecht - Netherlands, in 2006 in Bergamo - Italy, and Prague - National Museum/

Jiri Netik occasionally works as a teacher and artterapeut. He works and exhibits together with his wife Martina (also carver and sculptor). They organize carving courses for everybody (from the age of 18) from all the world in a beautiful renaissance town in Slavonice.
They also cooperate with companies of other branches of art, e. g. they design for engraved glass for firma Lobmeyr - Wien (Austria), or wooden heads for musical instruments.
They also create portraits for commissions.
